Search and Rescue or better known as the "SAR" is an attemp of human lives lost or feared missing or face danger in calamities such as shipping, aviation, and disasters. The term has been used internationally SAR not be surprised if it has been very global so it becomes familiar to people anywhere in the world is no exception in Indonesia.
Rescue operations carried out not only in areas with rough terrain like in ocean, jungle, desert, but also carried out in urban areas. Rescue operations have been supposed was done by personnel with skills and techniques to not endanger the team's own salvation and the recipient.
Rescue operations were carried out at such low unfortunate plane crash, emergency landing and others, while the shipping disaster in case of ship sinking, fire, collision, aground, and others.Like wise, the presence of other disaster such as fires, collapsed buildings, train accidents, and others. Therefore don't be suprised if the work becomes a SAR teams are categorized into one of the high of having a job, because lives as they help survivors could be at stake.
Not long ago, the Head of the National SAR Agency, Marshal FHB Soelistyo stated that the current SAR capabilities SAR Indonesia is aligned with other countries, bot in terms of human resources and equipment, so that the position of the SAR Indonesia is in the seventh in the world. He explained that the improvement in the ability of the SAR seen from rescue efforts (search and rescue) to victims of Air Asia some time ago.
The succes of the rescue of the victims of Air Asia also can't be separated because of the good cooperation of the four related elements, ranging from Basarnas, military-police, goverment, and the potential of SAR itself (fishermen). For the future,the work perform rescue task, the four elements of cooperation are going to be synergized, but must be led by a leadership that is Basarnas, obviously Soelistyo.
